With the Egos a new milestone is set in the Rudy Project Racehelm collection. The EGOS pushes the boundaries of aerodynamics with its new dynamic design. With a double layer of EPS foam in the core of the shell and with an innovative internal structure to increase air circulation in the helmet and the increased ability of shock absorption, this helmet is the most advanced combination of safety, comfort and ventilation at Rudy Project.
EPS IN MOLD construction
In-mold technology allows the outer polycarbonate shell to be molded directly during the injection phase of the shock-absorbing foam with expandable polystyrene (EPS). The result is a much stiffer structure that is impact resistant, extremely lightweight and allows for a better ventilation system. The combined action of the EPS structure, the polycarbonate cap and the exoskeleton creates resistance to the mechanical action exerted by an impact and distributes the energy to prevent it from being transferred to the head of the person wearing the helmet.
Rotational Impact Test
At Rudy Project they are committed to develop products aiming to the highest level of safety, exceeding the current requirements set by international Standards, such as the CE or CPSC norms. Today more than ever their goal is to go even further by overpassing also the RP ROTATIONAL IMPACT TEST. The RP ROTATIONAL IMPACT TEST is an internal protocol adopted by Rudy Project, in cooperation with accredited and notified bodies, to test and measure the performance of the helmets against rotational impacts; it takes inspiration from CEN, from ECE 22.06 (a new standard for motorcycle helmets) and it is based on real accident data and scientific sources. The RP ROTATIONAL IMPACT TEST “pass-fail” criterion is based on the BRIC (Brain Injury Criterion) value, an algorithm that defines the level of brain injury. This value must be less than 0,68. *The RP ROTATIONAL IMPACT TEST is a RUDY PROJECT internal protocol to test and measure the performance of the RUDY PROJECT helmets against rotational impacts. This test has not been adopted by CEN or by its Working Group CEN TC 158 / Working Group 11
RSR 10 RETENTION SYSTEM
Lightweight yet durable, the RSR 10 adjustable retention system provides a perfect personalized fit. Thanks to its circumferential structure and multiple micrometric vertical and horizontal positions for size adjustment.
The front padding of the inside minimizes the sweating process inside the helmet, improving air circulation and avoiding unpleasant odors and achieving the best performance.
