The long distance is the top class of triathlon. A split second can determine whether you mare it onto the podium or not. What's important? The right tools. The new uvex race 8 is one of them. Join a long list of professional triathlon athletes who are convinced by this helmet’s superior performance.
The helmet was developed by the uvex engineers and the BMC Etixx Pro Triathlon Team athletes And further optimised with the help of German triathlete Laura Philipp. It has a shortened drop shape to improve aerodynamics, and on the side there are specially arranged dimples on the helmet shell, recesses as known from golf balls. These reduce air resistance and avoid turbulence. The front ventilation opening is located at the point of maximum dynamic pressure. Thus the airstream is directed through and around the helmet. The magnetic visor in litemirror smoke (S1) can be operated with one hand, fits completely into the helmet and closes seamlessly. When not in use, it can easily be placed on the helmet in a specially-designed parking position.
The shape of the helmet optimally shields the shoulder area and the air flows off the back of the head and back with minimal turbulence. Measurements in the wind tunnel with the uvex race 8 show significant power and time savings. The higher the speed, the greater the wattage saved. Tested with uvex athletes, the savings in wind resistance were up to 4.2% when compared to the previous model.
FAS webbing system
Infinitely variable and easily adjustable webbing system for the uvex bicycle helmet.
The uvex Monomatic comfort closure can be adjusted in several stages with just one hand. The lock is twist-proof and has opening protection in case of a fall. The UVEX Monomatic is equipped with a comfort pad for a pressure-free fit.
The same head circumference does not mean that the helmet also provides maximum safety and comfort on every head. Advanced fit systems provide a perfect fit to the head in every direction. Millimeter-precise in the blink of an eye.
