Michelin GUM-X Series is the latest generation of rubber compounds developed by Michelin for the Michelin Wild Advanced mountain bike series.
Michelin has incorporated its many years of experience into these new rubber compounds, which offer mountain bikers an excellent balance between grip, mileage and durability. The Michelin GUM-X Series Compound uses different degrees of hardness: The lower the value, the softer the rubber, the higher the value, the harder.
HD Protection Bead2Bead:
The HD Protection technology consists of textile fibres which, woven crosswise, form a high-density (HD) protective layer. This allows a very good compromise between high puncture resistance and low rolling resistance without compromising the weight of Michelin competition tyres.
Since its invention by Michelin and its introduction into competition in 1986, the Michelin research and development team has worked year after year to continuously improve the performance of the protective layer. The HD Protection Bead2Bead version is optimised for use in road racing.
A skin wall flank lets the texture of the carcass shine through. The advantages are less weight and more power.
