BlackChili Compound improves rolling resistance by 26 % and at the same time offers approx. 30 % more grip compared to activated silica compounds. Vectran - The reference in breakdown protection
Vectran is a synthetically produced high-tech fibre with a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and processed into a multi-fibre yarn. Spider silk as well as Vectran have an enormous tear strength at low weight. Just the right properties to be used in a Continental top tyre as a puncture protection insert. A Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. The Vectran Breaker does not influence the rolling resistance.
TPS - A pioneering front and rear tyre system for racing bikes
The TirePositioning System takes the last ounce of what is technically feasible at present. Motorcyclists have known for a long time that different demands are placed on a front wheel tyre than on its rear counterpart. The narrower front tyre reduces drag and improves steering. A tread compound with optimised grip provides the necessary grip, especially when cornering in wet conditions. The wider rear tyre has improved traction and comfort thanks to larger contact patch.
